About this color scheme. It's named Botswana, after the country's handsome flag, which has a central, horizontal black stripe surrounded by thin white stripes and wide blue stripes. On the Ural, it has the look of bold racing stripes, even though we know you're not going to race it. The Russian distributor took this paint scheme to make their one-off Bobber custom bike, with skinny fenders, minimal lighting, whitewall tires, and a nice promotional video. It was soon quashed (by which we mean we can't find the video anymore nor can we get the skinny fenders), but the color scheme remained in the system, and we really love it. (If you'd like to replace the blue with red and get the Tobago custom paint scheme, contact us! There's also the Brunei paint scheme, with yellow in the center, black on the outsides, and thin white stripes between them.)
Our bikes are happy cruising between 55 and 65 mph. Our 749cc engine, combined with powerful low end torque, is the perfect size to compliment the steering dynamics of our all-steel sidecar.
In addition to a 4 speed transmission, every Ural comes with a mechanical reverse gear. Reverse can be engaged by the foot pedal to the left of the rear brake.
