Look at this thing. It’s sleek, it’s bright red, it looks like it’s going a million miles an hour standing still. It’s also huge, and the riding position forces you to pay attention, meanwhile the engine and gearing force you to go rather fast. Cruising around town at 35 mph will not work, just trust us on that.
So you want some highways and some fat curvy roads to ride this beast. If you have a passion for Italian tractor engines that have been tuned to go fast, that also helps. The engineers had fun with this one. Note that originally it was fuel-injected, but the Weber-Marelli system was universally detested in its day, and so the previous owner removed it and installed Dell’Orto carburetors, as are proper for any Moto Guzzi of a certain age.
The engine is still overhead valve with pushrods, so it’s simple and low tech, but the factory said it still put out 90 bhp when new.
Odometer reads 58,720 miles as of 9/17/2024. Previous owner traded it in on a new Ural, and then we basically enjoyed looking at it for a long time. We finally recommissioned it in 2024 with a simple carb and fuel tank cleaning, new battery, fresh brake fluid, and new Battlax Sport Touring T32 tires.
Please note the rear shock is the upgraded WP suspension. We don’t for sure know if the front forks were upgraded internally or not. The fork fluid is new from 2022 when we replaced the seals.
$4,100 as-is, stock #9022.
