Standard Features
The sidecar seats an adult passenger, or swallows the cargo a solo bike never could - camping gear, groceries, camera bags, a dog who’s decided this is now his seat. Reverse gear means parking and tight maneuvers don’t turn into a wrestling match. The integrated trunk keeps the essentials locked up and dry.

Opinion
We've ridden pre-production versions of these for at least five tanks of gas, now. The water cooling is nice because it should mean there will be no warnings about accidentally overheating the engine by riding too fast for too long. We had it on the interstate several times, keeping up with 70 mph traffic. (Top speed was 79 mph according to an iPhone GPS speedometer app.) The gearing feels short, which for this engine means there's a lot of overlap between gears, and it's pretty difficult to find yourself accidentally lugging the engine. 5th gear is usable as early as 35 mph.
It uses a chain drive, which means the final drive maintenance will involve lubricating the chain regularly (every second tank of gas if you ride on dry streets, more often if it's wet or dusty) and replacing the chain and sprockets when they wear out. So while it's more maintenance than a shaft drive system, it's also a lot less expensive to replace, and you can play with different final drive ratios depending on what sort of riding you do the most.
The wheels are tubeless, so repairing a flat tire will frequently require no more than a plug kit and an air pump.
